We went to visit Santa today. I should mention that Wynn has been running a fever since Saturday. All morning he has been fine and playing. So, we figured we would get a Santa picture made today. Might be a mistake. Well, we got there about 30 minutes before it opened. Everyone had the same thought. It took an hour and half before we took the picture. Wynn was doing fine, but wanted to be held the whole time. Once we got to Santa, Wynn decided that he was not happy about the whole thing. Yep, I have the classic Christmas Story photo. Wynn is crying in his picture. I guess every kid has to have one. However, I think I am going to do something different in regards to the Santa picture at the mall. Where do you go for your Christmas/Santa picture? Does your Santa look real in regards to his own white hair and beard?

Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. My dad rented a house in St. John's USVI. The house was awesome. It had an italian villa feel. The views were spectacular. Our room had an outdoor shower. That was interesting, but loved loving at the blue water. But, we didn't have the traditional meal, but went swimming in Caribbean water instead. The water is so beautiful there.
On Friday we said farewell to my grandfather. We spread his ashes over his favorite spot on St. Thomas. He is now with my grandmother. In honor of him, we rented two boats and went snorkeling, visited Foxy's and Soggy Dollar. We had a blast. We knew my grandfather was there in spirit because we saw tons of rainbows all day with no rain. I miss him a lot.
On the bad side, everyone got sick. I was the only one who got it twice. It was not fun losing a day at the beach. We tried to make the best of it. We think it might have been from the bites of the sand fleas. Not sure though.

Trick or Treating
This was Wynn's 1st Halloween in which he got to go door to door. He was a sheriff. It took him about 2 houses for him to understand that he needed to go to the person at the door to take a piece of candy. Once he understood, he was taking more candy than needed. We went to a few houses then I stood outside to pass out candy. Wynn was having blast watching and walking everywhere. Our neighbor offered us a drink and we didn't pass that up. Man, that was the strongest margarita I've ever had. Then, it started to get cool and went inside. Wynn would go to door with me, but he wanted to get the candy out of the bowl like the other kids. We had fun!
On a sad note, Wynn put a chip in my iPad with his toy gun that night. Bummer! Apple wanted to charge me $367 for a new screen. No thank you. I would be better off buying a new one. Beware for those who have an iPad with little kids. It doesn't take much to crack/chip.

Pumpkin Patch
Sorry for the delay in the pumpkin patch pictures. However, we did have a wonderful day at Uncle Shuck's. We had a delay getting there because so many people were coming. I had my family along with Matt's mom and grandmother. Wynn is loved by lots of people. We are blessed! Furthermore, the weather was great. It was sunny and warm. We only did one corn maze which was 3 miles long. We had trouble at the beginning because we would get turned around. Finally, Matt and Mike took over and we found all the checkpoints. Afterwards, we took lots of pictures while Wynn roamed through all the pumpkins. He was too cute. Lastly, we went to downtown Dawsonville and ate outside at Shenigan's. It was good. Enjoy the pictures.

Apple Orchard
We took the whole family to Hilcrest Orchards. It was a sunny Saturday, but very cold and windy. Wynn loved picking up the apples from the ground. He held on to an apple all day. When we got back, the girls made apple dumplings and an apple pie. They turned out delicious (even with the vanilla ice cream). The guys watched football and had drinks.
Unfortunately, Wynn did not have a festive outfit for the day. I was more concerned that he was warm. The cold blast that we had prompted me to get him a winter coat. Thanks to my sister I got an awesome coat at REI on sale.
Sorry for the all the photos. Enjoy!

Terrible Two's
To all mom's: When does the "terrible two's" start? How long does it last?
Wynn is only 16 months, but I feel like I am dealing with a terrible two year old. He definitely knows what the word NO means. However, he has been pitching fits like no other. When we left from the park the other day he had a total meltdown. I mean the screaming cry, body flailing, back arched, legs kicking, and the whole nine yards. Plus, trying to get him in the car seat was a wrestling match. He would arch his back and slide down. People probably thought I was abusing him. This is not the first time. It seems like it happens all the time. It happens when Wynn is happy doing what he wants to do, but the minute we say no or have to leave he has a major meltdown. I don't even want to go through the changing clothes and diapers. That is awful as well.
Sorry, had to ventilate. If you have tips and/or suggestions, I am all ears.

Photo moments
Wynn went to his first Braves games about two weeks ago. We went because Matt's company bought everyone tickets for their family along with gear to wear. We got to walk the whole field. That was really neat. Plus, we were fortunate that there was nobody really close to us in our row. So, Matt and I sat about four seats apart so that Wynn could walk between us. That saved us!
After going to Bruster's for ice cream last weekend we went to the park. It was quite and got to play without anyone else. Wynn went down the slide (with Dad of course) for the first time. He loved it!
My brother took these shots while babysitting. Thanks Bro for letting me get a pedi with Mom and Dandy. You did a fabulous job. I had no worries. I love all the pictures. Some really show Wynn's personality. I wish I had a camera like him.

Updates
I can't believe it has been over a month since my last blog. Going back to work makes it hard to keep up with blogging. I do manage to find time to read other blogs.
Wynn is now 15 months old. I can't believe how fast time flies. His new thing is climbing. He climbs on the furniture, his toy garage, and train table on a daily basis. The garage scares me the most. It wobbles when he gets on it. I can yell at him until I am blue and he thinks it is funny and fun. Last night he was so cute-he made a fort with the couch cushions. I remember those days.
Fall is around the corner. I am planning on doing some outdoor activities. We have a Braves game planned, go to a chili cook off, an apple orchard, and the pumpkin patch/corn maze. Last year Wynn was too little to get any expressions. I hope this year he will be excited and engaged in all the fun activities planned.
Matt went back to school to finish his masters at Georgia State. He goes two nights a week. He took a year off when Wynn was born. He has 13 months left of school. It has been an adjustment to run errands, cook dinner, give Wynn a bath, and put him down after working all day when Matt is busy with school work, readings, and class. Not much time for me to do much more especially when I am tired around 9 o'clock.
To all moms: how do you find time to exercise without feeling guilty after leaving your child all day? I don't want to join a gym and put Wynn in another daycare setting. I am trying to find a balance between work, family, and personal life. What has worked for you? I am open to suggestions.

Not ready to go back
I can't believe summer is over. I had wonderful time hanging out with my little man. Excuse the photo-it is not very good of me. I have been bad this year in regards to getting ready for the school year. I haven't been in my classroom once. I will be running wild getting everything ready for Open House. But, bringing a toddler to work for a day would not have accomplished anything. Wynn is in a phase in which I put something away that is the item that he wants to play with at the moment. Cleaning up his toys is almost impossible. I had fun being a SAHM (stay at home mom).

Keurig coffee maker
I am thinking about getting a Keurig coffee maker. I was looking at the special edition model. Does anyone have one? Which model do you have? My only concern is the cost of the coffee pods. They seem to cost a little more than a bag of coffee. Where is the cheapest place to buy the coffee pods? Any recommendations would be helpful.
